Swing and a Long Drive, a blog focusing on the Philadelphia Phillies and Major League Baseball, was created in July of 2008.

The author of this blog, Amanda Orr, has been a huge and passionate Philadelphia Phillies fan since the day she was born. In January 2009, Amanda was recruited by a popular Phillies website called Phillies Nation, where she continues to write today. Amanda, now 18, graduated from Marple Newtown High School in June of 2010. She now attends La Salle University.

Swing and a Long Drive continues to grow rapidly. This site is intended to update the latest news and rumors, as well as give unbiased opinions, but also to have fun with the beautiful game known as baseball.
